New GPS

Hey guys just stumbled upon this site, its nice to finally find some hunters that love pheasant hunting as much as I do. Looking at getting a new GPS and need some suggestions. Any thoughts or help will be much appreciated.

Are you looking for a GPS unit for your vehicle? I would suggest the Garmin Nuvi. It's got a wide range of models that are very affordable and you can determine what you need from their website. These things are very user friendly and take virtually no time to learn how to operate them. I cannot stand the navigation in my wife's car, it is a freaking battle! I learned to operate my buddy's Garmin in about 30 seconds.

Yes for my vehicle, I had a Lowrance. I wasnt terribly impressed with it, we were headed back to the room one night north of Cawker City and the damn thing led us right into a stubble field. It was right after a storm so we didnt realize it until it was to late. We made it out without a problem but didnt want to try to explain that to a p'd off farmer.

I think that they will all do that to you. In that instance, the GPS was probably too good. It was probably a little 2-track going through there that it had picked up. We've been deceived by the Garmin too, it's just trying to take the shortest route.

Darn, I was hoping you meant GSP, not GPS...

Yeah, Nuvi works fine for us. Or you could get one of those I-phones or droid phones and get the GPS app. Just for fun, we set it my wife's phone on the dashboard next to the Nuvi. It worked exactly the same.
Just a thought.

Thats what we were guessing, still felt bad about it. One of my hunting buddies just picked up a 5 month GSP this last weekend. I have always been a lab guy myself, probably gonna go with a pointer or GSP on my next dog. I have a crack berry and the gps app for it is horrible.
