I've been a lurker for quite a while & finally decided to register so I could put up a classified ad for some quail, lol. And figured I shoud probably be polite and say hello.

I'm in southeastern SD, been here 4 years and moved out to the rural-middle-of-nowhere part 2 years ago....and I'm originally from suburban Florida, born & raised. How I ended up here is a long story that sometimes amazes me still....but I love it and wouldn't go back for anything. I have embraced my inner Green Acres. Even in February when my driveway's snowed in and my snot freezes if I stick my head out the door.....it's still better than living in Florida.

I have a French Brit and three weird little not-technically-hunting-dog dogs that I've had since I was a suburbanite. I have a lifelong love of dogs and I've really grown to love hunting with dogs. Still fairly new at hunting, this is my second season beind a real dog. She is awesome but I have a lot of room for improvement (can't hit the broad side of a barn sometimes)....but she seems to be pretty forgiving. I love every moment I spend in the field with her.

So yeah. I enjoy reading this forum & I have noticed several fellow SDakotans posting here even. A couple of you are not far from me at all....I *think* somebody here is practically a neighbor, judging from a couple posts where location was mentioned :). I tend to be a little shy about posting much on any forum but maybe now that I've officially joined I'll chime in once in a while. Perhaps if by some miracle I find a topic where I can actually contribute something constructive, lol.

Until then, I'll be standing over here on the corner quietly selling quail to passers-by, lol.....kind of like the "crazy squirrel lady" in the movie Rat Race, if anybody's seen it, lol

Welcome fellow South Dakota resident nice to have you on board--post often and enjoy

That was one of the best parts of the movie! I've recently moved to the midwest too and I have to admit that it's growing on me. Seems like there's a strong hunting community out here which I think is great. Enjoy the forum and I look forward to seeing your posts.

Welcome to the sight, glade to have you on board. Don't be shy, jump right in the water is fine.:)
