Hey fellow bird chasers.... enjoy looking and reading the site...
I am from pa and run drahthaars
I am a part time pheasant guide at Martz Hunting Preserve here in Pa..
preserve heaven for running dogs... 1300 acres of huntng upland birds...
enjoy reading about hunting, training, all that stuff.....
 
guess, i forgot to mention... looking to go to SD to hunt the real thing one day.... I hunt grouse and preserve hunts here in pa... our Pheasant population has dwindled since the 60's and 70's when my grandad used to hunt....
so, within the next few years I would like to save and plan a trip with my drathaars to do the wild rooster thing... just a goal of mine to experience...
I am a big fly fishermen as well, and saved up and drove to yellowstone MT.
fished and hiked the back country streams w/o a guide, but just had an unbelievable experience catching cutthroats in that park!!!

Pheasants and my dogs in SD is my next quest...so any info out there I can read for newbie from the mountains in PA would be helpful....

Welcome, I am in upstate NY and fly fish on the Salmon River pretty often, drop me a line if you are ever up fishing this way. I try to do a couple cast and blasts weekends fishing the Salmon and hunting at a local preserve.

Welcome to the site. There are several people looking to get to SD and several here from SD, so plenty of info and might be able to save on your trip by carpooling.
