I grew up farm hunting bobs and blues with no dog in sw OK. I was out of the upland game for some time, but have got back into for the last 6 years or so. I have a black lab. My neighbor and bird hunting partner has 3 gsp's, 10 years old , 2.5 years old and 6 months. I hunt them also l. I did most of the wild bird introduction on the 2.5 year old and have been hauling the pup on dove hunts and introducing him to ditches, heavy cover, gravel roads, etc.
This years upland plans include 10-15 day hunts in Oklahoma. Mostly for bobs with the occasional pheasant. Also planning 4-5 day trip with a friend to Nebraska. And maybe some Texas handle action.
