I'm from Southwest Iowa and mainly pheasant hunt there. I also make about 3-4 trips a year to hunt in Northwest Iowa. I have 3 labs ages 11, 3, and 1. I'm getting my first pointer in 4 weeks, a Deutsch Kurzhaar (DK). I can't wait to start training and getting the pup ready for next pheasant season. Does anyone else have a DK? I would like to hear about theirs.

hello pheasantaddict... i dont have DK but i also live in iowa what part of northwest iowa do u go hunting i live in in the NW.. happy training let us know how it goes.. i have a 2 year old lab... and welcome

I hunt around Dickinson County. There seems to be a good number of birds in Northwest Iowa. Love to hunt the cattails, as there aren't too many marshes down south. I broke through the ice once and was lucky to get out. Cattails + labs = roosters! Did you happen to get any partridge this season? I was lucky enough to scratch down one.
 
i live about 1 hr from milford... my uncle live there but i never went hunting there... i seen a bunch of partride right before the season but didnt see when it started... that was luck to get one .. most the time u cant get close to 1
