My MT Mule Deer

A great year and another great time. Not trophy class but I'm very happy with the buck. I put in 5 hard days opening week of the MT deer season and another five days the week before Thanksgiving. Saw plenty of smaller bucks both hunts. Got a chance at this buck the last day of the last hunt. He stopped at 300 yards broadside. The 130 gr 270 hit him just behind the shoulder and went through. He lunged forward about 20 yards.
I hunted the rugged badlands type country all public land.
Boned out and packed about a mile all uphill and in two easy trips.

I hunted really hard this season for a muley, but never saw anything close to that? Lots and lots of smaller ones, and tons of whitetails of course, but really wanted my first mule deer and ate my tag till next year.

Oh well, had a blast. I'm big on DIY hunter too...have to be as I'm broke most years LOL
