National Public Radio reported this morning that the number of women hunters is growing while fewer men are hunting according to information released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The reporting was from Coer d'Alene, Idaho, where the state offers hunting classes for women taught by women. An instructor was dressing out a deer. She asked for a volunteer to give it a try. Without hesitation a woman-student spoke up, took the knife, and went to work.

Upland hunting is an ideal sport for introducing girls and women to hunting. Getting more women involved in hunting will give hunting broader acceptance in society. So, guys, let's get our girls and women out and in the upland fields.
