Heading to Selby Friday night to chase some roosters. I will be hunting all public land unless we catch a break. I never pay to hunt. I've never been in this area, usually hunt around Pierpont but conditions don't allow it this year. I was hoping to get some info on walk-in areas you would start with or a general region (ex. north of java) Has hunting been tough or can you still plan on seeing plenty of birds? Is corn still the dominate crop in the area? Thanks

come on throw me a bone? I stumbled on this site and really like it. I operate another website called f3outdoors.com, if any of you have a question about minnesota or regions of minnesota post it and i will answer. Thanks again

I hunted that area last week and got a few birds but most of the sunflowers and corn are still in so it was tough hunting. Try the area south of Selby just off Hwy 83 where the road starts to curve. Good hunting

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I'll be back late Sunday night. I'll post pics from the trip and let you know how we did. Thanks again

Looked at your f3outdoors website very cool. Where in Minnesota are you from? I'll be hunting around Huron this weekend hopefully the corn is starting to move. Good luck to you this weekend...I'll report on Tuesday.

thanks. I'm from Moorhead. You know that scenic resort town next to Fargo. Ha Ha. I called the elevator in about 6 towns out west just to see if there has been any harvest activity, and it sounds like a few farmers are getting out and harvesting. Said a lot of farmers have 85 day corn that needs to be pulled fast they expect many farmers in the fields this weekend. Gook Luck to you as well.

I am a teacher and coach and we have a wrestling tourney
"Rumble on the Red" over Christmas in Fargo. Will be my first trip there!!!! We own some land around Huron (homesteded by my Great Grandfather)and our renter is getting some corn out! He is pretty good about leaving a few rows for us makes for some fun!!!!

Fargo is the biggest town in between Minneapolis and Seattle! There's always something going on. Have fun in Huron. Sounds like a blast.

Got back last night from out west. "Lots of Birds" 4 of us limited saturday and 2 short on Sunday, we just ran out of time, it's a 6 1/2 hour drive home. We saw hundreds of birds and i can hardly imagine what it will be like when the crops are down. We had to walk to get them, but that's what we wanted to do anyway. Saw around 20 sharptail all very spooky but we did bag 5. Dogs did great and thats really what I'm out there to see. Good dog work, We never lost a bird. They all got extra food.
