I read in the 2011 Mn Augest roadside survey the DNR puts out that the DNR added 4585 acres of new public hunting ground in pheasnt country. Is thier a map out thier somewere that shows all the new state and federal hunting ground anually?
If you check the mn dnr website thy keep it pretty up to date. They even have the new wia areas on the site now. If you Google mn dnr wma it should bring you right to the page.
I wish the MN Dnr would do the public hunting atlas annually like SD does. I ordered one that was printed last year from a bookstore for 10.00 shipped. SD does a free updated one each year.

The MN DNR does a terrible job with map publication. Here is the link to the map page: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/index.html You'll note that there are many mapping options but none is complete or particularly well done although the recreation compass, for instance, shows great potential. I know of several parcels in my county acquired in the last 5 years totaling over 700 acres that have not been added to DNR mapping. Add to these maps the PRIM maps (that are seldom updated with any frequency) and various other printed maps available through various outlets and you have a bunch of incomplete resources. The DNR needs to pick one mapping information system and ditch the others. Print one newsprint type book like SD does and let sportsmen be informed.
