Mid week break

Took yesterday off to chase some pheasant. Was pretty nice out East. Sun was out and light winds. Pulled off my first double of the season and had my limit by noon. Gonna try to get out a couple more times before the end of the year. Still lots of birds out there, just have to wait for them to leave the corn fields to have a real shot at them.

I did the same. New here and new to pheasant hunting. I did bunch of grouse hunting back east when I was growing up.

Hunted south of Yuma Monday and Wednesday and managed a limit both days. Monday was cold cold cold.

I was South of Yuma as well around Hwy36 I drive a Lifted Silver and Grey K5 blazer. I hope to get out again next week. If you see me feel free to say hi.

Kitchen pass has been revoked for a while. Three trips in a week burned it up fast (and my money for diesel) She has been more than generous with spring turkey, fishing, elk, antelope and pheasant. I can't complain. I'll be back out in a few weeks. I drive a blue F-250 crew cab.

Not as lucky....

After an amazing opening day out East (www.expertprepaid.com), today was not productive. 3 guns, 4 well trained dogs and 50+ hens - only roosters we saw were situated on private land and the farmers were not open to sharing. Tough day - still fired up to drive the 450 miles in a couple of weeks. Back to work tomorrow.

Tues & Wed

I made it out on Tuesday and Wednesday and did a bunch of walking. Found a few birds and was able to connect with two roosters each day. I did have some good luck finding some birds in the tall cut wheat first thing Tuesday morning. This was my first trip out to Colo this season and some of the fields I had good luck in last year are not so good this year. I plan on making it out a few more times this season and try to find some new honey holes.
