Just got back from my deer/pheasant trip. I hunted both these counties two times and limited in about 2-3 hours everytime. I was hunting WIA and Crep areas. If you can find water, there will be birds around. They were pretty hard to get up in the air. It was just me and my dog so we looked for cattails and walked on the down wind side so she could smell them up. Walking into the wind seemed to force the roosters to fly deeper into the tails, but with the wind at our sides, they flew with the wind, out of the tails so we could retreive them. I only hunted the last few hours of the day so the birds were all within 100yds of the road. I think there was only one WIA that I didn't kick up any birds at all. For a down year, sure beat the crap out of Colorado. LOL I got a couple of them walking the ditches around corn fields as well. I remember being a kid growing up there and that was all we hunted and the confined strips of cover can hold alot of birds. Good luck all.
