Hi, I Live and work in Las Vegas and would like to know I can learn to experience working and hunting with dogs. Newcomer willing to start at the bottom. Thanks

You might want to look into shooting preserves in your area. May not be any near you, but some states close bye may have some. Say CO etc. Then get a guide to show you some dog work. Or you could take a trip to any of the zillions of other preserves for a few day hunt as well.

Welcome to the site. I agree with what FCS is telling ya. Shooting preserves in that area will probably be your best bet with a guide. Depending on how far you want to travel, there are tons just to the east of you.

Nevada Bird Hunting

Hi, I Live and work in Las Vegas and would like to know I can learn to experience working and hunting with dogs. Newcomer willing to start at the bottom. Thanks

Northern Nevada has excellent wild chukar and some wild hungarian partridge hunting on public (mostly BLM) lands along the I-80 corridor from the Elko area on west. Also east of Mesquite, NV, in AZ, again on BLM land, there is good quail hunting. Get yourself an atlas showing the BLM land. Be sure to put boots on your bird dog because the desert terrain will wear their pads down to raw meat in no time -- very painful and disabling for the dog. And be careful. When you're in those areas you are on your own in every sense. Have fun. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have about bird hunting, getting started, etc.
