I just saw this on the net, I think they could back the date up to August 7th and we wouldn't have .5" here. The dogs could really use some rain this week (Iowa opener is next Saturday)....it just happens that we have some chances, 30% one day, so they are saying there is a chance.

Been nearly 5 years of terrible drought here in my part of southeast Kansas. An area that usually gets pretty good precipitation.

We had 3 years going, but we did get good rains this past spring and through the growing season. The last 2 months, between the heat and lack of rain, the crops will be pretty much gone in my area for the opener this Saturday. The temps for the opener are looking better, the low Friday night 31 and high Saturday 64, so we should have a couple hours to hunt before the heat beginning to get too bad.
