I have been going to south dakota that last couple of years but i would like to try something different and try Kansas i am looking for a place of a group of us so if anyone know a place that rents a place would you let me know thanks a lot for reading this and have a great day

How big of a group? When you say you are looking to rent a place, do mean just for lodging or are you looking for a lodge or some sort of controlled shooting area? Any particular part of the state you would like to hunt?

Try Goddard Ranch.

there would be 8 to 6 of us up in south dakota when just rented a house and could hunt the farmers ground but it was always hunted so hard it wasn't really worth hunting we always went to public or walk-in areas i am really up for any thing but really don't want to pay high high price

I went out to Beloit over Thanksgiving a few years ago. We paid about $75 per gun per day to hunt private ground, which I didn't think was unreasonable. Problem was the guy had taken several groups to the same spots the two weekends before, so they had shot a lot of the birds and the ones left were already spooky. I would say if you are looking to hunt WIHA and/or public and maybe knock on some doors to try and get access to private, pick a location and get a couple of motel rooms and have at it.

In my opinion, the smaller the group, the better chance you have of gaining access to private land. Unless, of course, you know somebody.

Good luck to you.

I hunted just north of beloit 2 weekends ago and it was the worst hunting ive dont all year. just saying. I was very upset with the region no birds to speak of anywhere around.

Sorry to hear that Cowboy. I wasn't so much commenting on the Beloit area as I was about paying to hunt private ground. It might be a good idea if you get to it early in the season (first week or two). If not, I'm not sure it's much of an advantage. I was just trying to give Rush some things to consider when planning his trip to Kansas in 2012.
