I went out to Beloit over Thanksgiving a few years ago. We paid about $75 per gun per day to hunt private ground, which I didn't think was unreasonable. Problem was the guy had taken several groups to the same spots the two weekends before, so they had shot a lot of the birds and the ones left were already spooky. I would say if you are looking to hunt WIHA and/or public and maybe knock on some doors to try and get access to private, pick a location and get a couple of motel rooms and have at it.
In my opinion, the smaller the group, the better chance you have of gaining access to private land. Unless, of course, you know somebody.
Good luck to you.
