Look Away- Part II

First - huge supporter of LEOs on the front line here, across the board.

But for those who would have us trust that these fine people will protect us, our families, and our team mates from the crazies and evil doers among us (who don't follow ANY laws the rest of us do) - they would if they could. They can't; we must. It would be helpful if our ability to do so effectively was not infringed, curtailed or eliminated more than it already is.

The Chiefs, far too often, are politically selected and motivated individuals, not leaders. A fresh example comes to us from the recent massacre in Boulder. The police chief there is a self serving and highly deceptive individual, or so it would appear. Trading on the sacrifice of an actual hero (the dead officer), she has advised the world that her people entered the scene of carnage 30 seconds after arrival. This to fend off suggestions that her department was tardy in its response. But if what I read elsewhere is correct - it took them very nearly an hour (OK, 58 minutes) to arrive. If so, her statement - if not an actual lie - was certainly intended to mislead the public. This does a tremendous disservice to the fallen officer, his peers, and the public. If this perception is accurate, she should resign or be fired immediately. If past examples are any indicator, she will be rewarded for her behavior, not held accountable.
