hey guys how are ya??? any way ive been on-line scouting for years for deer turkey & upland game i can most of the time locate good spots to hunt & weed out the not so good spots but not so in SD???
ive been finding each & every public land spot in the region i want to hunt & trying to find pheasant cover in close proximity to public lands you know food/crops cover & water i have had trouble doing so in the hole mobridge area all the public lands seem to be quit a long way away from the crops most the areas look like grass or cattle lands & they are like i said maybe 1-2 mile away from the nearest public lands??? i did find 1 spot with crops cover & a slough but that was like 1 spot out of 30 checked on both sides of the MO river???
is the SD ground cover look that much different on aerial pics then other regions of the country??? it takes me a half hour at most to find quality looking spots on-line in MN but maybe that because i know the areas & what the cover looks like 1st hand???
IDK whats the prob but if somebody has some public land spots they no longer hunt PM me & ill start looking around that area & then try to find similar cover near wear i want to hunt... dont need your fav honey hole just a region to start narrowing down a search then i can pick a smaller public tract to start my hunt my father hates to drive many hours to a state to hunt only to spend more hours behind the wheel driving around trying to find a better looking spot then the last to hunt you know how that goes... but it is part of the game as everything looks different once your feet are on the ground & your about to start hunting a strange area for the 1st time lol
any tips on what to look for or what i may be missing would be much appreciated by my father & i thanks guys & safe hunting this season
