Made my non-resident hunting license purchase on an inaugural trip to KS in January this year (2010). The license is still valid for this fall, correct? Is it still valid in January (2011) or would I need to purchase a new license come January?

my understanding is that the license is good for the calender year in which is was purchased (January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010) so it will still be valid come fall and you would then have to purchase a new license January 2011

That's exactly what we're saying. Don't worry, you got in just in time....we're not telling anyone else

KDWP begins selling the next year's licenses about the middle of December and therefore, suspends the sale of the current year's license. So if you are in Kansas hunting after that date with your 2010 license, you can purchase your 2011 license, since our season on pheasant and quail runs through January 31st.

Now the other thing, should you not have a Kansas non-resident license for 2010 and plan to hunt December 2010 in Kansas, you might consider hunting after about the middle of the month and purchasing a 2011 license which will let you hunt the remainder of 2010 and through December 31, 2011.
