Hey all Looking at driving from Dallas area later this afternoon for Liberal Hugoton Area. How bad are the roads? Did you get that much show and ice and will buy be able to get around with a four wheel drive truck?\
Thanks for any news

I was there last week, no snow. most of the roads are paved. dirt roads (the mile roads) were wide and smooth. Shouldn't be a problem.

what

this week not last week you better chk with a local my man hopefully sum1 from that area will let you know i saw snow like crazy

I was curious if you made the trip and how were the roads in that area? I'm looking at heading up that way, possibly Tuesday morning. I see that there is a 20% chance of snow for that region Tues-Thur.

Thanks, Rhodi

Liberal missed the big snow. In fact they had a dirt storm while everyone else was getting snow. Still hasn't snowed but the forecast calls for possible Tues. If it does you can probably get down the main roads unless there are big drifts. Be careful about pulling off to the side because they grade ditches on the edge and you can't see them when they fill up with snow. As long as the T is around freezing just take it easy. If it warms up they really get mushy. If you start down a road and there are no tracks, back up and think about it. Chains, shovel, flare, 4 wheel is nice

sas, thanks for the info. I was up there a few weeks ago, hunting a Sat & Sun. Ended up leaving earlier on Sun than anticipated due to the wind and dust. On my way home, down HWY 287, I was dodging tumbleweeds the size of my truck. Btw, got shut out during my hunt; saw one rooster that flushed a good 75 yds out in front of me.
