Planning on late late season pheasant + bonus quail trip out in Kansas, having trouble deciding on a place to end up at. From what I've read the northwest and southwest seems to have the highest bird numbers this year, how is north central??? I went out to sw kansas during thanksgiving time and did okay, not great though. Was wondering if you guys had any suggestion on where a group of 2-4 hunters could go that has decent bird numbers, and public land, as that is what we plan to be hunting. Thanks!

Hunted in the Pratt area last weekend. Saw excellent numbers of pheasants and quail on private ground. I have been in the Dodge City area this
week hunting public and have not seen many quail, but have found some nice pockets of pheasants. Cover is spotty in many places, but based on my experience this week, if you find good cover, you should find birds. God luck!
