Late Season Hunt

Looking at heading out from Wisconsin at the end of this month into the 1st week in January.....last year at that time I stayed in Bowdle and ventured from there.
I've stayed in Hosmer and Hecla hunting near those places on previous trips, but not late season.
Looking for thoughts/lodging ideas further east for me and my dog to take a couple hours off of travel out there.

I have had good luck with airbnb's, only down side is you might have to drive a little further then normal.

I have also had good luck with Airbnbs.....pretty much all I use anymore.....which is great when you have a guy or 2 to split with.
And no, you won't find anything in the $50-$60 a night range. Then tack on pet fees and cleaning fees, it adds up fast.
The good thing about them for the most part, everything one needs and more is there at an Airbnb. Just hits a bit when you are solo to eat the bill.

Yeah, they would be great for multiple people. If it was just one weekend, it wouldn't matter as much, but I hunt 3-5 days every week in SD every January, so it adds up.

The one I'm staying at in December is 87 bucks a night but yes you will have cleaning and other fees i have it booked for 6 nights. I will have my son and his buddy and up to 3 dogs. It works out to about a 100 bucks a night. Has separate bedrooms, washer/dryer and pets are welcomed. Second time I've stayed there and will continue, in my opinion better choice then a hotel with all your gear, people and dogs. I havent found a motel in SD for 50 or 60 dollars a night, haven't looked that hard either, when I was in Nebraska I paid 84 a night with all the taxes and such so not much difference.

Do a search for the area you want to stay and time frame in either VRBO or Airbnb, you might be surprised and finds some deals.

Yes for me it is worth the extra money for the comfort of my dogs and me.....we cook more meals to help. Only down fall for me is where i'm staying is 30 minutes south of where i generally hunt, which is near your areas.

I think there is one in Faulkton, it is called Rockin' E Inn and Cabins, have no clue on price

I have found them in NE and EC, but they seem to be endangered in NC for some reason.

Yeah I drive by it all the time, it was in pretty rough shape and I think it sold and they have done some upgrades, however, looking at the prices they have really increased, rooms we in the 40 to 60 dollar range when I booked with them. I didn't stay there as bad weather kept me at home.
