Great News!!!

Excellent news!! I'm thrilled to be buying a lifetime membership now! How long until we see the additional land being leased? I suppose this $ is for next year and we'll have to wait and see how many folks volunteer to enroll their property, but it is great news either way.

KS Brit,

I'm not sure all of it has to go towards leases...I'm hoping they'll devote a portion to upgrading the habitat on some of it. Also heard some rumbles about devoting some of it to spring WIHA for turkey hunting.

It's too late to be factored into the 2010 Fall WIHA. It'll be interesting to see how KDWP puts it to use!

Good. I'd prefer habitat upgrades over more acreage leased, but either one sounds great! Spring WiHA for turkeys is a good thing too. Spring turkey season is a great way to introduce new people to hunting.

I figured as much but just had to ask. Yes, I'm excited to learn of their plans for the $.

I am all for habitat upgrades and for some wiha enrollment but think the majority should go to improvement of what we have

KS is top-notch and very progressive with their WIHA and WIFA programs. I'm very thankful to live in a state that recognizes and respects the hunting traditions.

Thank you Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks staffers and thank you to Jake George with KDWP. Jake's a great friend of mine and one of the dedicated people at KDWP helping to push along programs like this.

Keep up the great work!
