Hi I am from Indiana.
In the past I have hunted Iowa many times until a lot of our crp dissappeared so a couple of years ago we tried South Dakota had a great time there and last year went to Nebraska and found some birds there too.
We are planning a trip out to Kansas to pheasant hunt. Because of schedule conflicts etc. we wont be able to make it out until January. We have a contact that we got from of our fellow quail unlimited members in the Cedar Bluff area so we thought we would likely go there. We are hoping to get permission to hunt a few crop fields and hunt the walkins that I have heard so much about. My dad who is 79, well he will be 80 by then is planning to go along this year along with 2 other guys to make a party of 4. Our plan was to watch the weather we got flexible work schedules that time of the year and go when it looks like we have some mild or milder weather in January. The colder rougher weather wouldn't bother me but I am quite sure my dad wouldn't go if the weather is too bad and I would really like for him to get to go and enjoy another pheasant hunting trip.
Any advise or suggestions is appreciated I have pm'd a couple of members and their advise has been most helpfull so I thought I may get some more ideas by posting this here for all to read. I have been a member here now for a while and I would just like to say that I think the people here make this a great web site.
Thank you,
Steve
