Told my wife I was going to give the dog a break(like he really wants or needs it) and take this weekend off. Well Friday she called me and said she was going to direct a short film on Saturday. I asked immediately if I could go hunt. She replied that I could.
So I drove up to the Vail area. Saw four birds all day. Two in heavy timber which no shots were available. Then ran into a couple that provided me a clean shot.......

Thanks but I'll stick with my current handle...

I can't wait for pheasant season to start either... Every weekend from opening day in November to the last day in January... Unless I decide to chase some scaled quail........But I've been saying that for the last few years and haven't done it yet....

Maybe you and your boy can chase pheasants with us sometime….... We hunt Kansas mostly. Small weed pockets and WIHA... Lots of boot leather....
PS: My pheasant photos are much more vibrant than my grouse photos.....
