So I was looking back in my hunting journal and discovered that this year I have a higher number of birds per outing than last year. I probably am seeing more birds this year than last. What are you guys seeing who have hunted all 3 weekends?
Worse has such a negative connotation, I think "different" would be a better and more uplifting word to use. This year has definitely started out with fewer birds. I have been out part of 4 days for 2 roosters, and those were the only 2 I had looks at, one in IA and one in SD (I don't keep a journal so its easier to forget the misses) Continual loss of CRP and habitat in general, a long harsh winter with high hen mortality, and the latest crop harvest in memory; saying the info in your journal is skewed would be kind. I would like to encourage everyone with something righteous and hopeful reminding us that God thru his covenant with Noah promised "Summer and winter, springtime and harvest (pheasant hunters harvest included) as long as the earth shall last".
