no the atlas doesn't come out every year. I believe the one I had before this one was from 2007. The book gets out dated fast. The internet will be used mostly now I'm guessing. The public grounds do change and the Iowa DNR web sight has a great setup to find all the public grounds with very good printable overhead photos of each one. Very easy to find the areas and parking. It also tells you where you need non-toxic shot (most of them). Their web page totally makes my state's DNR sight (MN) look like amateurs put it together.
