Before season, I usually refresh my information on field care in case of injury. Mick, the ESS, hasn't given me much reason for medical care, but Young Bert, the-not-right dog, a GWP could not only sustain serious cuts, slices, and debris in his eyes, but he could also time them so the Veterinarians would be off for National Holidays, Sundays, or Star-trek conventions (ok, I made that last one up.)

Here's a link to Merck veterinary manual care on wound treatment. Nothing startling, but worth a refresher look. Hope you don't need it this season.
