My neighborhood is hot with turkey's lately. My wife even called this morning that she was waiting for them to cross the street before she could get to work. I've never hunted turkey, but have always wanted to. I'm thinking of buying my first call and practicing with the local birds before getting out in the field for a real hunt. Anyone have suggestions on a first timers call that's beginner friendly?
Earlier this year a hen with a handful of chicks cruised through our backyard. Was pretty cool to watch mom hustle the birds over the fence behind our place. She even returned when she realized one went another direction. The dog was nuts for a bit with all that fresh big bird scent
