Hunting public ground in NE Kansas

Anyone have any good tips for public ground hunting in the NE section, it'll be my first time hunting in Kansas. Any information will be much appricated.

NE KS Walk In

For spring turkey?

NE KS Not Great for Upland

no i'm sorry, we're going for quail and pheasant season.

There are some pheasant and quail in NE but it is not a better area of KS for such hunting. Moreover, there is less walk in land compared to other areas that have better hunting. See the KDWP website for the walk in atlas that shows all the walk in statewide and the acres per county. Good luck.

your best bet is to start at marysville on hwy 36 and go west. the closer you are to the mo kan border, the worse the hunting is. I have wasted time and gas hunting NE kansas

I've been with Roosterbuck and can vouch for him. We don't even waste our time anymore trying to hunt NE Kansas. It is well worth it to drive the extra few hours west for a good hunt.

Good deal, I think that I have the majority of my trip planned fairly well. Thanks for all the help. From what it looks like now I'm going to start at tuttle creek and work west and northwest in the walk in hunting areas.
Thanks again for all the help.

Tuttle Creek does have some good quail hunting around it and you can always stop by Aggieville after your hunt and grab a cold beer:cheers:
