Hunting pressure during the week

Is there still a significant amount of hunting pressure the week of the opener (Monday through Friday)? I was thinking of waiting and hunting Tuesday instead of during the weekend. I would be hunting south central Minnesota.

Weekdays you should have plenty of spot to your self. The birds will dumb up again by middle of the week you should have no problem. Good luck. Wish I had some weekdays off to go.

Maple glazed pheasant? That sounds good. You will have to direct me to the recipe for that one.

Save a couple birds for me!

I can't wait to get out and hunt pheasants but I do not like fighting the crowds on the opener. I will be chasing grouse this weekend.

Good luck to all the pheasant hunters!
Stay safe!

maple glazed Pheasant Recipes

Ingredients:

Legs and breast of 1 pheasant, skinned
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped parsley
2 cups maple syrup
1 cup butter
salt and pepper to taste
Directions: Fillet meat off of the breast and thighs. Cut the meat into pieces of the same thickness. Season the flour in a bowl with salt and pepper and dredge the pheasant meat in the mixture. Dust pheasant pieces with onion powder. Melt 3/4 cup butter in skillet over medium heat. Brown the pheasant pieces and place in a lightly oiled 9×13 glass casserole. Sprinkle with parsley.

Add the syrup and 1/4 cup butter to the skillet. Mix well until butter is melted and then pour over the pheasant (should come about halfway up on the pheasant pieces). Seal the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes at 325 degrees.

This recipe actually started with honey and one day by mistake I grabbed syrup instead, since then I never looked back!
