Hunting in Oxford/Miami Area

I'll be traveling to the Oxford area for some consulting work at Miami University in mid-January, and thinking about bringing the dogs with me.

I've been through that area several times before and passed some birdy looking areas, but have never talked to anyone or been able to find out much about hunting in the area. Any suggestions on quail/pheasant hunting around the Oxford area? Have done a lot of quail hunting in the Southeast, and some grouse hunting in East TN, but never made it to the midwest for any pheasant action.

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'd bet there aren't any pheasants in that area but are some quail. I hunt not too far west of there in Indiana near Greensburg and there isn't a pheasant within 60 miles of there I would bet. Got to go north of I-70 to have any chance at a cackle bird.

I feel your pain looking at all those birdy areas but they just aren't there. I had a guy tell me that around Washington Court House they used to have tons of birds but he says nobody hunts there any more. No birds.
