Hey Guys I was curious if the bird population has rebounded any up that way?
I grew up pheasant hunting up there, then when the population went down we started going out west. I've been gone in the Marine Corps for the past 8 years, only coming back to hunt maybe once a year.

Hunted opening weekend out west, but didn't take my pup (Opening weekend is always a mess, 25 guys, too many dogs etc..) This saturday I'm going out on a solo hunt with just me and the dog, I was thinking of heading back out west. But I'd like to take another trip up to my old stomping grounds at some point, and I'd hate to go up there this weekend with my pup and not get into any birds.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Pheasant populations are WAAYYY down. Talked to three or four farmers who haven't seen a pheasant. Quail are down substantially as well but there are some around still. Sorry to burst your bubble but please let me know if you find birds because i sure didn't and we hunted some prime private land.
