Hi Folks,

My name is Scott and I live in the Minneapolis area. I have only been hunting since 2005, but I am totally hooked and plan to do it as long as possible. I believe upland hunting is all about the dog and I always marvel at what my dog can do. I hunt with an Airedale Terrier named Bob and I started running him in AKC spaniel hunting tests in August of 2009. I love training him as he and I get sharper and sharper as a team. Bob became the first Airedale Terrier in the history of the breed to earn an AKC hunt test title in September 2009. (Airedales have only been able to run in AKC tests since July 2009) The training and hunt testing is a way to extend the hunting season throughout the year. Eventhough I really do like hunt testing now, hunting is way better as it is quieter and more relaxed. I am not all that fond of the galleries that follow you in upland spaniel hunting tests. I am looking forward to learning more about hunting opportunities and hunting experiences from others on this forum!

Welcome to UPH, Scott. Your dogs name should be easy for me to remember it is the same as mine.......Bob

Hey scott, I remember you, I shot for your dog at the MHSA hunt test. I was the good looking guy that killed every bird I shot at. Glad to see you aboard. Welcome, and glad to hear you had fun hunting. Hopefuly I will get to gun for ya again, it will be nice to see the differance in the dog from year to year as they grow. How about that I was a part of history and did not know it. So you finished his Junior hunter? I believe thats the one I remember. It was labor day weekend. So now are you going to keep going? Good luck if you do. FCS

Welcome Scott, glad your addicted now. It is a lifelong disease.

Thanks guys. I look forward to a great hunt test season in 2010 as we go for our Senior Hunter. We will have five in our training group this year, all Airedales. I hope to inspire other Airedale owners to run their dogs in tests so I won't be the only one in Minnesota running an Airedale.

Interesting I have seen Airedales used as kill dogs for coon hunting but never as a bird dog.
