Herters select feild pheasant shells

Has anyone ever tried these? Cabelas has them for 84 dollars a flat, that's a great deal if they are any good

I don't know, but I just bought 4 cases of their Herters trap and target loads for $49.99 a case. Hope they are good. I've always shot the bargain shells for trap, but the price of "cheap" shells sure has crept up the last few years. Feels good to find them for $5.00 a box again.

I'm either good to go for a couple seasons of trap, or totally prepared if the dove and quail try to take over.

I see a lot of empty herter shell cases at my trap club, should be a good sign that people like their trap loads

I used the 20ga 6s last year in my right barrel. They went bang every time. The shot is just a smidge smaller than "our" 6s since they are made in Italy. More like 6.5, but none of the birds indicated that they noticed the difference. If you hunt phez only, I would recommend the 5s as they would measure close to a "5.5".

Just shot my first round of trap with the herters trap loads. I actually shot a little better than my season average, and also had one round where I hit 25 straight. Could/should have had 50 straight, but it was all my fault for losing focus.

It was really windy today, so I was pleasantly surprised to do so well with any load, especially one that was just $5 per box. They hit right where you point, and the targets were crushed very effectively.

I'm calling their trap loads a great bargain! Hope you find the same success with their field loads.
