Hail Damage

Last season I wasted opening day hunting WIA north of Holyoke. I saw far fewer birds compared to the previous year. After asking around, I was told the area had been hit hard by hail in the summer.

This year, I have heard reports of heavy hail damage both north and south of Holyoke. Chadsbrit sent me some amazing photos of corn damage this summer.

How much effect have you seen summer hail damage have in previous years?

Hail in Amherst

I talked with a wildlife Biologist from up there and he told me to avoid Amherst as it got hammered with hail.

I was just out there last weekend. Hail damage or not, there were a lot of birds running around. It might not be as good as it could be without hail, but most won't notice the difference. It should be a great season in Colorado.
