I am looking for an individual that can guide me for Quail hunting in Kansas this year. I will be out that way in November, maybe December. I am older and don't do a bunch of miles per day. I do have one Brittany that is pretty darn good. Looking for an individual that has access to private ground and good public ground. Please pm me your info and rates.

Thanks

you don't need a guide or private ground......put the dog down on walk in ground and you will find birds to hunt.

I understand what you are saying. Over the last several years when hunting in Kansas, the birds have been extremely scarce. I have been hunting KS for 20 years. At one time it was crazy good, before everyone started talking about it on the net. Now it is harder for me to cover a lot of ground, due to age. I am at the twilight of my hunting experience. Now I want a good quality hunt for my dog and myself. Just looking for quality now.

You might try searching some of the guide services. That might be your best bet. Most all of us on here are hard core hunters that put in a lot of miles. It has not been "crazy good" for quail since the late 80's here in Kansas however the last 4 seasons have been much improved for quail. A lot of my areas are walk in and I log at least 45 days of upland hunting each season.

I used to be hard core myself. Old man time has caught up with me. I am really looking for a local or two that will take me on some of their ground, at most 2 short trips a year. I always respect landowners and their cattle, land, etc. I don't try and shoot a covey down. Typically will not even shoot if Covey is less than 12 birds or so. It really is all about the dog and the hunt. Not the kill. It just would be nice after driving 16+ hours to know that you might see some birds.
