I hope everyone had great success today. Please post pictures.

My 12 year old lab suffered through cancer this past year. We had to amputate part of his paw. His desire to hunt is not there so he is officially retired. We thought we had a started dog lined up, but unfortunately it did not work out (found out yesterday). My family is looking again. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. We would like a lab/GSP, started or semi-started would be great. We have 2 boys (8/10) and 2 senior dogs. Shoot me a private message if you have thoughts or advice. Our family is pretty broken up after the other pup did not work out.

Quick clarification: We prefer a 50/60 lb size dog.

What is a small size in your mind? Depending on your answer, a lab or GSP may not qualify. Have you considered a springer spaniel? Or a Brittany? They tend to be smaller breeds.

Hi Mike, funny you say that. I spoke to 7 breeders yesterday, and we're absolutely considering a pointing lab. Do you have any thoughts?
