GSP Shoulder problem

Hi, I have a four month old GSP and she has been working hard but she pulled up lame a week ago. She is limping bad on her front right leg. I've had pups before that limp for a while but it passes, however a week is a long time. She is still wanting to run and its hard to rain her in. Do you think I should spring for X-Rays or wait a little longer?

I would bring her in for a exam. The vet can check for ligament stability with exam. If performing an X-Ray I would suggest the vet shoot a A-P image (front to back) with both legs. Compare good leg to bad. The vet will also take a side view to obtain a 3 D view.
Did you witness any injury ? I would limit your dogs jumping off of heights, the landings are tough on the joints at this early age. Keep us posted.

Thanks peter, I did not see what happened to her but I think she landed on slippery wooden floors. She is getting better after one week. The x-rays didn't show any damage.

That is good news, the xray is a tool to rule out anomalies or path. Sounds like she will be fine.
Did she wimper when the vet tested her shoulder, knee and foot?

When the vet extended her shoulder and leg straight out ahead of her she yelped. Its been a week and she is no longer limping
