Currently in Alabama; stationed at the Home of Army Aviation, Fort Rucker. I found this forum to acquire some counsel on pheasant hunting. I pursue our southern mossy back whitetails and our evil, dangerous mourning dove with equal maniacal passion. This OCT, prior to another deployment, I've been offered to come along on a SD wild pheasant hunt; I've never even SEEN a live pheasant of any kind. I'm totally stoked!

My profile says the rest; GREAT site; looking forward to visiting with you all.

Thank you, Fellas, for the warm reception. I cannot overstate my excitement over this OCT trip to SD. We'll be near Huron and am told it's about as good as it gets. I can hold my own with the best on dove and quail, but as I've said, I've never even seen a live pheasant (sheltered like, I 'spose). I will indeed keep up with replies to tell all how it's gone. Thank you all again. And please know that NO military person ever tires of hearing the warm wishes of you Great Americans. God's Blessings to all of you.
