I had a great hunt this morning around Ulysses. I started hunting around 8 and shot my 4th bird about 10am. Almost all the crops are cut and the bird population is very high. The birds are very spooky and we're in need of some cooler weather. Any grass beside cut corn held birds and where there was one, there were 10 to 15 getting up. This was on private ground. Hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving, I know I did.

KansasGsp, you must be a lot better hunter than I;am because I was in Ulysses wed. and walked all day with 3 other hunters and just got 3 birds. We walked the corners of the fields and only found birds in the tall thick weeds. No weeds no birds. Tell me what I did wrong.

I will be in the Ulysses/Satanta/Hugoton area tomorrow(Friday) doing some hunting and scouting. Hope I can find some birds.

We hunted 2 corners around plains today and got 3 roosters out of the deal so we headed back to begin the feast early!

Not sure what's the deal where you're at. We had a group of 6 hunting today and we ended the day with 16 birds, but lost quite a few and missed quite a few as well. We saw plenty though. I'm West of Ulysses about 10 miles.

We were northeast of town in the AM and south in the PM. Just did not get into many birds, but I be back when the weather hits. I love hunt out there were you can see for miles.
