Hope all those Kansas pheasant and quail hunters are tucked away in their beds with visions of roosters dancing in their heads.

Good Night,

It looks like the best thing to hunt around these parts would be sand hills, with the dogs booted up. On the upland soils it may be difficult to get there and a guy's boots might get really heavy lugging around the mud. It will still beat a day in the office. I think there will be some very good hunting for some of the groups.

Great day out of the office. I had four opportunities and bagged all four so I am finished for today. Lots of property posted this year and I lost several key spots. Not many shots fired today considering it was opening day. My legs are killing me right now. How can I possibly do this all over again tomorrow and on Monday and on Tuesday? Started off cold and got nice. It was very windy for a couple hours, that's when nine roosters got up just to my left and I shot a nice double. The birds went with the wind so I took two very quick shots and fortunately, they were good. Hope everyone had as good a time as me, now I need to clean the birds behind the motel if I can walk that far.

I lost some spots because the famer retired due to health reasons and the two fellas who farm the land posted everything. Another farmer just said he is not going to let anyone hunt his property this year, but he didn't say why.
