anyone have a good private land spot in the De Smet area? anyone? anyone? There will be 4 of us, 3 dogs, and looking for some help on land or suggestions..
 
I'm mot sure where to hunt privately near DeSmet. You may run into a slight hold up in getting permission from landowners right now since deer season has opened up. If they got their deer then they will probably be ok with you hunting. You may have to search a lodge or guide service during deer season. We are south of DeSmet an hour and while out scouting deer today I seen a ton of roosters. We are getting some snow now and with the crops out the birds are bunching up. They are a bit more wild now but when you find them you should find a bunch. If you can't get any private land up there then start getting on some public ground with high crp and cattails. Bring a dog!! Good Luck!
 
MFD, does deer hunting end this coming week-end-or is there an extended doe only season or such?
 
East River Deer Season goes from Nov 20 to Dec 5. It will start up again January 1 - 9 for antlerless only.
