Going Green

Date Hunted 12/29/22:

One of the young guys in our club shot the the first Mallard drake for the year. We don't get a many mallards in SE Louisiana so when one does get shot it is a trophy for sure. His blind only shot 2 ducks one being the Mallard. Me and two friends on the same lease shot 15 for the day. 2 drake Pintails, 1 spoony and 12 teal. Overall a good hunt for 65 degree weather.

Nice. I used to shoot a couple every year when I lived in LA. They were the exception though.

Mottleds were fun to get. Living in ND as a youngster ... shooting drake wigeon, pintails, teal, and even grays in full winter (spring) plumage was a highlight of my time living along I10.
