Can anyone recommend a dog friendly motel around Glen Elder? One that will cater to a wet, smelly, labrador, muddy boots, and not break my bank account?

Also if anyone is familiar with the area please PM me.

Went to Glen Elder last week after the rain with 3 other guys to hunt a little private land we know of and hunted last year. 4 of us didnt shoot a bird by the afternoon so we moved further west after no success. We never ended up staying there, but we did see several motels in cawker city that look cheap and the largest ball of twine.

Ok thanks Cowboy. Pheasants will only be a bi-product of the trip. Numero uno quarry will be waterfowl.

My lab always prefers the Dreamliner motel, north of there in Mankato!

Nothing like a soft, warm bed after a long day in the fields!!

Glenn Elder Lodging

Number 1 on the West Lake Inn in Downs. They welcome hunters and their dogs. We have stayed there for the past ten years for the opening of pheasant season. Follow US 24 from Glen Elder right to it. It is about five or six miles west of the historical marker for the old Indian village that used to be where the lake is now.

Still Need a Place?

I have a house about 15 miles or so from Glen Elder in Portis that I rent out. It comes fully equipped with dishes, towels, bedding etc and has two bedrooms with two single beds in each and a sleeper sofa. There is a large detached garage with a dog kennel inside for your dog. Very quiet place at the end of the street.

Nope. My buddy that was going to go with me backed out and I didn't want to go by myself so I just stayed around close and hunted.

Love that part of the state. Was out there last weekend of rifle season. Going to try to make it one more time before the season ends.
