I'm researching what preserves / locations to set up a trip as a gift for my husband and our great Vizsla. We're from the greater Seattle area and I'm assuming out east is the best to go for the state.

Any recommendations?

That is a tough question to answer as "great" to every hunter is different. If you mean the most birds look at the SD survey that will point you to the county(area) with the most birds. To me great is good number of birds but not as much pressure.
 
What a woman!!!

Time of year, time available, how adventurous, $$ available, experience, physical condition (dog and hunter), etc? Good luck.

I hunt western ND on private property with friends in the area. Very fortunate.
