Tonight I went into 1 of my favorite pieces of public ground. This is public ground near other public ground and the whole area gets plenty of traffic. Just me and 1 dog. Got great points on 7 roosters. I managed to get the 1st,was "tree blocked" and then missed the next 3. Got the next 2 for a nice unexpected limit. Also had nice points on 4 or 5 hens.
Season is almost a month old and these public ground birds acted like they had never been hunted. I did see more birds and the only wild flushes were when I and the bird were searching for a downed bird.
