first trip

some bad news from me. hunted my hot spots, n. w. kansas, some of them, monday afternoon for about 3 1/2 hr. saw 18 birds someplace, 12 of which were roosters. one point, didn't hold and no shooting. tue. morn. hunted 4 hr., saw 12 birds, two roosters, no shooting, 3 points but birds busted wild. hens anyway. coulda shot some turkey. came home early, just disappointed, if i went to 6 of my fields that i hunt, about 5 of them had no cover. some cause of rotation but mostly cause of no growth. can't ever remember not shooting at a bird in parts of two days where limits were the usual. been skunked before but never two days in a row. guess i better go out and buy better dogs or train the one's i got.. farmer brown said he had talked with the game warden in the area, he had checked 60 plus hunters and 8 dead birds. feeling kinda down but not out

Dang musti what did you expect to go out and get your limit both days sounds to me like you had two good days for how bad ks is ? It just makes me sick how bad it is the whole state I don't think I am coming that way this year maybe around Atchison or something like that but a guy can do just as good 2 hrs north of me in mo.
