first hunt of 2017

Didn't get out all that much this season, but went one more time on the 2nd of January. We finally got that smart old rooster who had escaped us several times this season... Good job Abbie!

This is Abbie's second season. She's a French Brittany (Epagnuel Breton) and full of fire and intensity when we're out after birds. She still has a lot to learning Scott County isn't exactly a pheasant paradise.... We do know enough to follow her when she's on a bird though.

The shotgun is a Berreta SP IV 20 Ga. They don't make that model any more. The rear stock I bought off Ebay cheap just to see if I liked the straight "English" stock, which I do!

That is a beautiful dog! Yea, the rooster and the gun are nice too but I always have a soft spot for the dog and he/she is an eye catcher!
