Upgraded to a Blizzard warning. 12-17 inches of snow wind gust up to 60 mph -15 to -20 temps. Deadly windchill.
11 am Thurs- Sat.
I've been in Blizzards like this, don't plan to travel, get out of the back country.
A good time to "hole up" in town, nice warm motel room.

It's starting to get cold here, but haven't seen any snow yet here in the Billings area. They said 4-8 inches here but with the wind, blowing snow is going to make travel tough. They said the hi-line is going to get hit harder. Nothing like going from 73 down into the 30's, but that's Montana.

Grounded. (Old Aviator Term)

I cancelled my eastern MT trip yesterday. I probably couldn't have gotten there from Victor anyway, let alone hunt birds once I got there.

14" here in Great Falls and still coming down. Temps were bad the last two days, so I was out with the dog yesterday afternoon and today. I like to hunt in snow but 3-4 miles of walking in that stuff is workout for both the dog and myself. Tomorrow however, is going to be colder, thinking about cooking up some pheasant noodle soup and taking it easy.

Sounds like the best plan!!!! What's the recipe for pheasant noddle soup? I need to cook up a couple of last year's birds.

I'm thawing out my bird tonight and trying the recipe in the morning. Thanks and good hunting when the weather warms up.

Just drove home to Valley county from Big Timber today, Monday, after a few days of trying to hunt elk up in the clouds , snow and wind, ofcourse it was up to 74 Wed. when we arrived...lol. Not a lot of snow until you hit the lake and much colder up this way, from what i have heard it was worse from GF to Lewistown to Malta and Glasgow. My buddy over in Homestead said they have a few inches but nothing to terrible, but they were shut down hunting Sat afternoon and Sunday due to the wind. 10 day is looking pretty good though, we shall see....

The 10 day forecast does look good for the birds, hunters too.
