Dogtra ARC Review - Negative

Just took delivery of and deployed my dog with a new Dogtra ARC collar. I had been using an earlier one-dog Dogtra collar very happily for eight years.

Unfortunately, the new collar, while updated and of high build and materials quality, has design flaws. The most serious is that the vibrate mode, which I consider the most important in the field, produces such a wimpy vibration that the dog cannot detect it. To get the dog's attention with this collar you must nick or shock the dog with electricity. That's a net negative for me and I returned the collar on that basis.

Further, instead of having separate nick and shock buttons as before, one has to move a mini toggle switch to either nick or shock mode and then press a button. Result? You are fumbling with the unit while the dog has moved on from the moment you wanted to apply correction.

This collar is not a good choice.
