Hi Im coming to NW Kansas from New Orleans to follow behind some pickups and crowds. Not looking for spots or specific info, I am also a waterfowl hunter and was thinking about bringing some goose deeks. We dont get many honkers in SE LA! Yall think thats worth the effort?

If you see a white 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 with Louisiana tags and an unruly Drahthaar from Hays to the Goodland area, come up and say hi, Ill have some fresh shrimp, crawfish and boudin in the camper!

Thanks!

Wish you were going to be there tomorrow. Right now my hunt is up in the air with the family. I am leaving Missouri at 0600 in the morning stopping at a buddies in SEK to help him finish loading his truck and then 3 miles to dads to get his suburban cleaned and packed. If they are not going to be leaving until late on Friday I will double back to my buddy's shop load parts and head for Quinter tomorrow afternoon. I would like shrimp for supper with a cold beer. We will be headed home Monday early.

NW kansas has good pheasants this year but very limited on goose hunting. You might be able to find a small group feeding around a city pond. If you can find their feed field and get permission its possible to kill a few but central KS is where the goose hunting is considerably better. Good luck!

Sorry bout my first post you had me at fresh shrimp. Kirwin and Glen Elder would be the place for Canada's. wish my gramma was still alive I could hook you up on her wheat to have some awesome shooting in her back yard in cawker city. Mom sold all the ground when she put her in the home. Didn't matter I was farming and would have bought it. Nothing like family to F up a good time. Notice my first reply.

Thanks,
Looks like I leave the goose gear at home. Unfortunately the only time I could get away was now as opposed to later season
Thanks for the advise

It hasn't been cold at all - I havent seen squat flying on migration yet - plenty of trees still have most of their leaves. Gardens are still going strong. I'll take it though - I still have plenty of tomatoes and peppers outside. Looking forward to stuffed peppers a time or two more.

I'm not a waterfowl hunter but I'd wager by the weather it would be a waste of time. Come back December/January
